“My mother often tells others that the poll percentage in India had been quite low. We need to awaken our voters so that most of the electorate turns up on the polling day to exercise their franchise and I thought a song would be the best way to make people aware about the importance of their vote. Since I am very fond of Kolaveri Di, I decided to fit words into the tune and rhythm to make a Pollaveri Di for voters. I decided to give a surprise to my parents so I penned and recorded the song on my own. Later, my mother helped me put it up on YouTube,” said Aishwarya.

The actress has written a poll-slogan in Hindi and English, which reads, “Bhrashtachaar kaa yahee nidaan, Jagrook Voter ….. shat pratishat matdan.” and “Hundred percent turnout by conscious voter, that’s the only corruption buster.”
