11th International Tipitaka Chanting begins in Buddhagaya
As like every year this year also the Buddhist monks, nuns and devotees from various countries congregated here at Buddhagaya to attend the 10-days of 11th International Tipitaka Chanting.
The Tipitaka traditional term used by Buddhist traditions to describe their various canons of scriptures. The Tipitaka traditionally contains three "baskets" of teachings: a Sutta Pi aka, a Vinaya Pi aka and an Abhidhamma Pitaka.

The monks and nuns will chant from the Pali canon, reciting the teachings of Buddha in a traditional manner. There will be 'Dharma talks' every evening, to be delivered by senior teachers from Thailand, Myanmar and Sri Lanka, followed by nightlong meditation in the compound of the most holiest shrine for Buddhists, the Mahabodhi Temple, under the Bodhi tree where the Siddharth Gautama attained supreme enlightenment.

The Chanting  will go on for the next 10 days. The Bhikkus (Monks), Bhikkunis (Nuns) and Dayakas (Devotees) from Thailand, India, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Laos, Cambodia, Nepal, Bangladesh, are participating in this grand event. A huge number of tourists have also flocked here.

This time again the Bhikku and Bhikkuni Sanghas of various countries will gather under an umbrella, that is the holiest Bodhi-Tree and will send the peace message to the world.
