12.5% service tax on helicopter service to Vaishno Devi hurts devotees' sentiments: J&K Sikh Societies
J&K Sikh Societies expressed serious concern over levying of 12.5% service tax on helicopter service to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.

In a meeting of J&K Sikh Societies held under the Chairmanship of Gurdeep Singh Sasan, Chief Patron of the Amalgamate, it had been said that the State Government's decision hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees across the world.

Castigating the State Government Sasan termed the step of levying service tax as a deep rooted conspiracy with malafide intention to polarize the situation in J&K to divertify the people's attention from burning problem and hide the Governments total failure on all the fronts. According to a release Sasan said that it will have far reaching consequences, while terming the decision as illegal conceived and a great blunder thereby putting additional financial burden on the devotees.

He flayed the BJP for keeping criminal silence over this sensitive issue and being a party to this unholy decision thereby cheating them and playing with their sentiments only to remain in power.

Sasan urged the government to immediately roll back this decision. He appreciated the people of J&K for unitedly taking stand against the decision thereby sending a warming to the government that the people are united on these sensitive issues irrespective of religion and Political affiliation.

The meeting unanimously condemned the coalition government for its failure to provide basic amenties to the common masses and decried the administration over the worst condition of roads, disruptive power and water supply. He describe the government's basic achievement as no power no jobs.

The meeting urged to the Government to wake up from the slumber and mitigate sufferings of the people. Those who were present in the meeting include, Surinder Singh Advocate, Brig. Rajinder Singh (Retd.) Baldev Singh, Nain Singh, Hardev Singh, Prof. Rajinder Singh, Dr. Ranbir Singh, Satwant Singh and Jagpal Singh.
