16 year old drowns in a pond owned by Ambience Mall
A tragic death of a 16 year old boy shocked Gurgaon this Sunday. The victim, Rupesh, drowned in the pond located in a golf course behind Ambience Mall. FIR has been lodged based on the complaint by the victim's family for negligence against the management and owner of the mall who own the golf course.
Police said that the victim, Rupesh, with five of his friends, had come to bathe in the pond. Accidentally, Rupesh slipped and fell in the pond, His friends, although, tried to save him but couldn't.

The boy's family and other Nathupur villagers rushed to the spot, soon after realizing about the incident. Shyamvir, Rupesh's father, said that Rupesh visited the pond regularly and has blamed the management for negligence. While the victim's family claim that there was no guard or barricade to stop the kids, the management, on the other hand, says that the water-body was meant only for golf course members.

As was reported by the timesofindia.com, the management, however, said that the group of boys forced their entry into the area and were stopped by the guards at two places.

An official said, ''A group of youngsters jumped over the fence to enter the golf course. They were intercepted by the guard but they fought with him and went inside. They were stopped by another guard near the pond, but they resisted and offered to pay for bathing in the pond. When they did not listen to the guard's instructions, the guard went to call other security guards, but the boy had already drowned.''

Based on the complaint of the victim's uncle, the FIR has been lodged against the management. ASI, Suresh Kumar, investigating officer said, ''The investigation is going on and we will arrest the person who is found responsible for the death.''
