18 people trapped in Gurgaon hotel: Bouncers tried to stop police, arrested
On Tuesday 18 members of one family were trapped inside a lift in a premium hotel of Gurgaon. They were trapped inside for almost an hour amidst a lot of discomfort. Two bouncers have been arrested for not helping or allowing others to help the others, endangering the lives of 18 people.
The family, which constituted of children and a pregnant lady was had gone to have dinner on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road. While returning, at around 11:45 pm they were trapped in the lift. The family from Sushant Lok were there in the lift for around an hour, as was reported by timesofindia.com
All the people in the lift had quite a tough time, as the fan in the lift was also switched off by the hotel staff. The bouncers, who were later arrested did not help the family trapped in the lift and justified their actions saying that the lift was overloaded by the family.
It was only after the family called the police control room that they were evacuated. The police team reached the hotel and broke into the glass window of the lift at the ground floor and evacuated them. The aforementioned bouncers tried to stop the bouncers from breaking the glass.
Ravi, 27, and Anil, 25, were arrested for causing hurt by endangering life or personal safety of others, disobedience to order promulgated by public servant, criminal intimidation and common intent.
