20 minutes of walk everyday can cut heart and diabetic risk
A recent study has revealed that People with a glucose-tolerance problem-a driver of diabetes and cardiovascular disease can cut the risk of heart attack or stroke by simply walking an additional 2,000 steps- around 20 mins per day. The study has been published in the magazine The Lancet.

The health benefits are gained by anyone walking 2,000 extra steps for a year on top of their normal levels of activity. It is particularly recommended for the older people who cannot do regular exercise and those who have history of diabetics in the family.

The study leader Thomas Yates from the University of Leicester, central England, said in a press release."People with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT)have a greatly increased risk of cardiovascular disease".

"He further added that several studies have suggested that physical activity is beneficially linked to health in those with IGT, this is the first study to specifically quantify the extent to which change in walking behavior can modify the risk," as reported by ANI.

For the experiment the study leader Thomas Yates and his colleagues gathered more than 9,300 adults in 40 countries with IGT who had also been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease or were considered at risk for developing it, and after the experiment they have found out that an inverse correlation between walking activity and risk of cardiovascular disease.

It has come out as a major study result for those who are suffering from the cardiac diseases and have the symptoms or higher risk of developing Diabetics in life. Its a well known fact that regular exercise, even walking, is beneficial to the health of people with IGT, but this study has quantified exactly how much a little extra walking will do for the health of a person with IGT.
