Year 2009 is now going to end and we are preparing to welcome 2010. This year was witnessed of many International affairs like Barack Obama took oath as US president, terrorist attacked on Sri Lankan cricket team, Air France Flight crashes into the Atlantic Ocean. Michal Jackson died in the mysterious circumstances, longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century, Tiger Woods Car Accident and his numerous scandal and Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.

Few International news are in chronicle order that was in limelight of world media


1- January 20 - Barack Obama took oath as the 44th President of the United States. He was the first African American who took charge of the America.

2- February 7 - The deadliest bush-fires in Australian history begin; they kill 173, injure 500 more, and leave 7,500 homeless. The fires come after Melbourne records the highest-ever temperature.

3- March 3 - Gunmen terrorist attacked on the Sri Lankan cricketers bus in Lahore, Pakistan. Cricketers were on the way to stadium. Eight people were killed and several others injured in this terrorist attack.

4- April 6 - A 6.3 magnitude earthquake strikes near L'Aquila, Italy. It killed nearly 300 and more than 1,500 were injured.

5- May 18 - More than a quarter century of fighting, the Sri Lankan Civil War ends with the total military defeat of the LTTE.

6- June 1 - An Air France Flight 447, en-route from Rio de Janeiro, capital of Brazil to Paris, crashes into the Atlantic Ocean. All 228 passengers were on board killed.

7- June 11 - A global pandemic H1N1 influenza that is commonly referred to as "swine flu" outbroke.

8- June 18 - NASA launches the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter/LCROSS probes to the Moon.

9- June 25 - World most famous pop star Michael Jackson died in the mysterious circumstances. Michael Jackson death news was the one of most biggest news of this decade.

10- July 15 - Caspian Airlines Flight 7908 crashes near Qazvin, Iran, killing all 168 on board.

11- July 22 - The longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century, lasting up to 6 minutes and 38.8 seconds, occurs over parts of Asia and the Pacific Ocean.

12- August 7 - Typhoon Morakot hits Taiwan, an island country near China, killed more than 500 people and stranding more than 1,000 via the worst flooding on the island.

13- September 29 - An 8.3-magnitude earthquake triggers a tsunami near the Samoan Islands located at the central South Pacific in the USA. Many communities and harbors in Samoa and American Samoa are destroyed, and at least 189 people were killed.

14- September 30 - A 7.6-magnitude earthquake strikes just off the coast of Sumatra in Indonesia, killed around 1,000 in Indonesia.

15- October 2 - The International Olympic Committee awarded the 2016 Summer Olympics to the Brazilian capital Rio de Janeiro.

16- November 27 - Dubai's debt crisis rattled world financial markets.

17- November 27 - World champion golfer and sports icon Tiger Woods injured in a Car Accident. Tiger Woods failed into various scandals and becoming the hot cake of worldwide media.

18- December 7 - December 18 - The United Nations Climate Change Conference 2009 conference held in Copenhagen, Denmark. 192 nations participated in this conference.
