The new Ford Explorer will be different in a lot of ways. The new Ford Explorer will have a four-cylinder engine option for the first time. As far as the exterior dimensions of the 2011 Ford Explorer are concerned, it will have wheel base of 115.7 inches. It will have the length, width and height of 191.0 inches, 79.6 inches and 69.6 inches respectively. The curb weight of the model will be around 4450 lbs.

The 2011 Ford Explorer also has dual front side-mounted airbags, front and rear head airbags, remote power door locks, dual zone front climate control with rear air, audio and cruise controls on steering wheel, memorized settings for 2 drivers, external temperature display, compass, etc. The new Explorer is expected to hit the market this summer as a 2011 model.
