Many prophecies, scientific predictions, environmental changes, changing behavioral pattern of the society, dreaded viruses, religious intolerance, militancy - show a very gloomy future for mankind. But there is also hope.

It means - At the place where HIERON has his ship built, there will be such a great and sudden flood, that one will not have a place nor land to fall upon, the waters would rise to the Olympic Fesulan.

In the fields of Media, Arabe, and Armenia, two great armies shall assemble three times near the Arabic shore or Persian Gulf, and drive the Israelis from their land. 
The Western armies shall pursue the Muslim armies all the way to Iranian soil or Middle East. The Jews shall be drawn into the conflict and shall suffer greatly. This is something which has already happened and we see that there are countless armed militia men groomed in different countries in this region who are a cause of conflict between countries and create a divide between the Western and Muslim nations. This prediction by Nostradamus seems to be very close to what is happening currently. He also talks about natural disasters happening on a large scale and we are a witness to such events across the globe. There have been 750 natural disasters out of which 12 were costly/deadly events. Though the number of events where lower than 2007 but the catastrophe was huge - almost 220,000 people were killed when Cyclone Nargis lashed Myanmar leaving 500,000 people homeless, and days later, a huge earthquake shook Shichuan province in China, killing 70,000 people. 
Are these signs of what Nostradamus is predicting? 
According to Hindu mythology, at the end of Kali Yuga(the current age of darkness and destruction), Kalki avatar, the Maha Avatar (reincarnation of God) would appear and mark the end of this age. Kalki is termed as the destroyer of all dark/bad things. 
Srimad-Bhagavadam states: 
Lord Kalki, the Lord of the universe, will mount His swift white horse Devadatta and, sword in hand, travel over the earth exhibiting His eight mystic opulences and eight special qualities of Godhead. Displaying His unequaled effulgence and riding with great speed, He will kill by the millions those thieves who have dared dress as kings.” (12.2.19-20)

The script above from Vishnu Purana states that when there is chaos in this world, the teaching of Vedas and laws cease to exist, God will descend on earth and end the Kali Yuga, which would happen when the “the sun, moon, Jupiter and lunar asterism Tishya are in the same house, the Satya Yuga (Kriti Yuga - when mankind is governed by God and everything which happens, manifestations or works would be purest and intrinsic to the divine way - also called the Golden Age) would return.” 
This event occurred on March 21, 1894, where there was a transit of theses planets to the same house. The question remains unanswered whether Kalki has arrived? Are we heading towards disaster? 
In Islam, Mohammed, the prophet, refers to the end of the World as “the last hour”. He has given feeble signs which would appear before the end of life on Earth. He says, “When the leaders of people lead them to astray and when the most wicked man leads, and a man is respected because of fear” the world would end. The major signs as narrated by his companions, which appear in the Mahdi script and talk about ten signs before the Judgement Day. These ten signs or rather occurrences are very similar to that of Vishnu Avatars in Hindu mythology. The holy script of Mahdi says that the world would end after the ten signs appear. In the Hadith of Hudaifa-b-Usaid, regarding the Major signs, the Prophet says, “At the end of which a fire would burn out from Yemen and would drive people to the place of their assembly.” 
We see that scores of young people being lured and lead into terrorism and these groups kill innocent people...is this what Mohammed the Prophet predicts. Is this a sign of impending doom of mankind? 
According to the Bible, “the four horsemen of the apocalypse” bring death. All four horsemen - Conquest, War, Famine, and Death, riding their horses would end life on earth. These four horsemen, as referred in Living Bible, paraphrased as four governments or tasks accomplished or to be accomplished – Republic, Autocracy, Monarchy, and Oligarchy; where the Republic indicates the US winning the World War II; the Autocracy shows the might of USSR leading to liberation wars and spread of communism; Monarchy - the world trade in oil leading to trade wars (the recent wars in the Gulf were fought with a hidden interest in oil trading) and the Oligarchy may be the final war of destruction or World War III. 
All these events have happened in a sequential fashion. So should we believe that destruction is closing in on us? 
Apart from the mythological interpretations, there are scientific predictions, which points out to 2012 as the year of destruction. 
“The resonance of Earth (Schumann Resonance) has been 7.8Hz for thousands of years; since 1980, it has risen to over 12Hz, which means that 16 hours now equate to a 24-hour day. Time is speeding up!” 
This quote is seen all over the net. The exact explanation: Schumann Resonance is a measure of the earth’s electro magnetic field. This is a very reliable measure since the US military uses it too. Schumann’s resonances are excited by Qbursts, lighting discharges covering the earth’s cavity. It has been found that cycles have risen and actual hours of earth’s complete rotation have reduced to less than 15 hours. Are we heading towards a disaster by year 2012? But there is a problem with this mathematical calculation as the lightening are discrete or rather isolated since the signals appears at intervals. There has been an occurrence when the Sun’s magnetic poles shifted; it literally stopped Venus’ rotation and thereafter it started rotating the other way. Does this sound an alarm bell? 
Mausami Dikpati and her team (of the National Center for Atmospheric Research) have predicted Solar Storm (Solar Maximum) is heading towards Earth by 2012. This happens when the Solar cycle ends and the indicator is the disappearance of Sun spots from the surface of the Sun. She quotes that there is complete silence on the Sun’s surface and waiting to unleash Solar Maximum in NASA’s official site. 
There has been so many prophecies , scientific predictions, environmental changes, changing behavioral pattern of the society as a whole, spread of dreaded viruses, religious intolerance, growing militancy - all these show a very gloomy future for mankind. We individuals make this society and we are the root cause for these problems somewhere. Let’s think if we can effect a positive change that would help change something. Let’s do it. Let’s do it before it’s too late. I don’t know whether this world would end but I definitely know that mankind would never end. Man has seen so many ages, adapted himself and the most important - man is optimistic.
