THE 25TH anniversary show celebrating the Rock and Roll hall of fame was shown on HBO on the night of Thanksgiving weekend, Sunday, November 29, 2009. Star-studded show from the music world take the stage at New York's Madison Square Garden to celebrate a quarter century of the Rock and Roll hall of fame. The show runs four hours and includes many great musicians from Folk to Blues to Motown it was all there U2, Metallica, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and other acts each have a segment of the show where they'll be rocking their music, along with a few tunes by other artists who have inspired their work.
The special feature performances from two groundbreaking concerts to be held in October at Madison Square Garden. The special will be anchored by iconic musicians that include Jeff Beck Band, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Aretha Franklin, Metallica, Paul Simon and Simon & Garfunkel, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, U2 and Stevie Wonder.
The live concerts in Madison Square Garden, held October 29 and 30, celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The HBO presentation The 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert features the highlights of both evenings of concerts. Each of the artists overseeing the different segments of the show will be joined by special guests to create unique performances representing the music that has inspired them.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was established 25 years ago by legendary record executive Ahmet Ertegun and a group of music business executives to honor the artists that have defined rock and roll and have inspired and continue to inspire a generation.
