334 not out; teenager creates world record
It is confirmed. It is worlds best knock in cricket! 334 not out. For 15- year-old schoolboy this is some record. Already being compared to champions like Sachin who played on the same field 20 years ago, Nikhilesh is bound to go places.
IT WAS a great treat for Hyderabadis here at Parade Grounds. Fifteen- year-old lad from Hyderabad, Nikhilesh Surendran, hit an unbeaten 334 runs for St Johns Church Junior College in the Boost U-16 inter-school cricket tournament match held in Hyderabad on October 15, 2008.

With this he smashed the world record for the highest individual score in one-day U-16 cricket. It has been confirmed that this is the world’s best knock!

Opening the innings Nikhilesh hit 54 boundaries in his 176-ball innings and took his side to victorious score of 558 for 3 in 43 overs.

The Brilliant Grammar School team was all out for just 48 runs, a 510 run win for St Johns at the Parade Grounds.

A thrilled Nikhilesh said, “It feels great to have got those runs. I would have to scored more, had it not been for the oppositions slow over rate”.

Probably the slow over rate was not deliberate as in international cricket matches, but the bowling side must have been dead tired as they were made to run all over the ground by Nikhilesh.

Nikhilesh, a terrific batsman cum wicket keeper admires Adam Gilchrist.

Nearly 20 years ago in the same Parade grounds, Sachin Temdulkar landed from Mumbai under 16, and batted to thrill the Hyderabadis. Nikhilesh should be a great asset for India in the coming days in international cricket.
