The 3rd North East Children Book Fair to be held from December 14, 2012 will have exhibitions, painting and essay competition, debate and recitation as well as story-telling competitions among the students of various educational institutions in the district.
Apart from art competitions, the 3rd North East Children Book Fair, visitors can enjoy colourful cultural programmes, which would be performed by students as well as the invited artistes.
While taking with the secretary of the organizing committee Munindra Saikia, he informed that they had been stressing on the importance of learning and improving knowledge about the
world among the children through reading books as well as to prepare the little blossoms in shouldering responsibilities in nation building. Saikia added, “In the previous fairs we received great response from everyone including the publishers that participated from different parts of the country. This time we are planning in expanding the number of stalls as the different publishing houses of New Delhi, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh,
Haryana and
Punjab have showed their interest of participation”.
Further, Saikia opined that the children are the future of the nation and childhood is the best period of learning or acquiring knowledge for scholastic development, and it also helps to organize oneself for the future. Keeping this in mind, we stress the publishers to bring and display books on Children. It is to mention that the North East children Book Fair committee organizes book fairs biennially in which around 150 publishers participate.
