Fifty seven seats in the Arunachal Pradesh assembly, went to polls along with Haryana and Maharashtra. Workers at polling stations also said that people will come to out vote in the evening as the weather become little pleasant.
POLLING IN Arunachal Pradesh picked up speed in the afternoon with about 45 per cent of the electorate exercising their franchise till midday, amidst minor clashes among different groups. There are 57 seats in the Arunachal Pradesh assembly, which went to polls along with Haryana and Maharashtra.
Election officials said polling had been suspended in Ziro-Hapoli constituency after clashes took place between rival parties. An electronic voting machine was damaged at the polling station after which election officials suspended the voting.
Meanwhile in Haryana, polling did pick up pace after a sedate morning and by mid-day around 25 per cent of the electorate had cast their vote. Poll officials, however, predicted that the maximum voting will take place in the late afternoon and in the closing hours with Sun rays becoming a little less harsh.
