47th Statehood Day celebrated at Himachal's Kullu
While presiding over the 47th Statehood Day celebration function at Dhalpur Maidan of Kullu, today, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh stressed upon unity, integrity and brotherhood and credited the unprecedented development of the State to its hardworking people and also to the leadership provided by successive Congress governments at the Centre and the State.

"With the blessings and affection of the people of the State, I have been fortunate to serve the State as the Chief Minister for sixth time", he said adding that the endeavour of his government had been to ensure a transparent, responsive and efficient administration for welfare of the people.

He said that 25th January was a historical day for the people of Himachal Pradesh as it was that very day that the Himachal got hard earned Statehood status due to efforts of the then Prime Minister late Smt. Indira Gandhi and the first Chief Minister of the State late Dr. Y. S. Parmar in 1971.

Listing developments of the present government, the Chief Minister said that during the last four years, nine SDM offices, 14 tehsils and 29 sub-tehsils were opened in the State giving much required fillip to the development. Besides, to ensure equitable development of the State, Dharamshala had been declared as the second capital of the State.

Virbhadra Singh cautioned to be aware of those forces which create rift amongst the people on basis of region and religion, though the people of the State were wise enough to understand the tactics of such selfish elements.

While presiding over the 47th Statehood day, the CM also launched a website www.GoKullu.com, (Karizmatic Kullu), developed by district administration Kullu, to provide online access to as many as 30-35 lakh tourists visiting Kullu and Manali every year.

The website not only provide authentic information about Kullu district but also has a provision of guiding tourists by means of geo tracking system. The website will also help in providing real time weather report, exhaustive catalogue of must see places, registered tourists guides, hotels, travel agencies, temples and home stays.
