50-foot mystery creature washes ashore in Indonesia, rotten beyond recognition
The majestic sea creature that washed up on a beach in Indonesia may never be identified. The reason, its carcass is decomposed beyond recognition.

As per reports, the huge carcass could be that of a whale but since it has been decomposed beyond easy recognition, it will be difficult to ascertain. Experts have suggested that the creature might be a baleen whale but have not confirmed anything as of now.

The nearly 50-foot-long marine creature was found lying on Hulung Beach on Seram Island, Indonesia, and was discovered by 37-year-old Asrul Tuanakota, a local resident, who initially mistook the creature for a boat, reported the Jakarta Globe.

When the carcass was found, some experts had suggested that it could be that of a giant squid but since squids don't have bones, and the creature has bones, so that possibility was ruled out.

What made the case even more complicated was the fact that the gasses trapped inside the body of the creature, after its death made it bloat, thus making it even more difficult to identify the creature.

What makes the case even more interesting is that generally when a whale dies, it sinks to the bottom of the sea. But since this creature has been floating, it is most probably due to the gasses that have developed inside its body. That can also suggest that the creature died an unnatural death.

As per reports, the 50-feet long carcass is now being attacked by sharks who are eating it and that has caused some deflation in the carcass. But the foul smell that the carcass is producing along with oozing out red liquid seems to have no end.

Experts are also divided in the cause of the death of the creature though most of them agree that the creature must have died an unnatural death such as being struck by a ship and having its internal organs damaged. Also, the creature must have been dead for anywhere between two weeks to several months, experts have said.
