Around 50 people have been arrested by Gurgaon Police in its drive against drinking at public places. As per the sources, Gurgaon Police under the supervision of Commissioner Alok Mittal started a drive against people who drink at public places or at roads outside liquor shops and engage in brawls and fights under the influence of booze.
Gurgaon Police arrested 24 people in 18 cases on 17 March, nine people in equal number of cases on 18 March and 17 people on 19 March. It also registered 16 cases against them.
Another team of Gurgaon Police started drive to catch hold of fast moving vehicles that jump the red light. “We started this drive on 18 March and on the first day we issued challans against 68 such vehicles. On 19 March, we issued challans against 117 vehicles,” Subash Singh, PRO of Gurgaon police told this citizen journalist .
