Asking about the importance of a voter in the eyes of the election contestants, Mangat Ram Bagri, Councilor, expressed his views to Merinews.com saying, ''Even a single vote can change the game. So, you see, each and every voter holds equal importance. It is because of the voters that the various leaders get an opportunity to present themselves before the public and prove to be capable of working towards the growth of the region.''

does one become a voter?
Answer (A) : In order to see one's country progress, a person needs to make some efforts to choose a wise leader, who can further lead the country in a positive direction. For this, a person has to, first, become a responsible voter of the nation. This can be done by simply filling up a 'voters' registration form manually or now, the service is available online as well. The voter card is then, dispatched to the voter's housing address by post.
Q : How many
registered voters are there in Gurgaon?
A : Till now, Gurgaon has been registered with approximately 5,25,000 active voters.
Q : How many are
A : Till the last Sunday, there were around 3,500 voters and the numbers are increasing by every day.
Q : Why has the
voter turnout been very low in the past few years?
A : Who said so? The voter turnout has been very high in the past years and will keep on increasing as more and more people are registering. Since, a large amount of people migrate into Gurgaon, so it is expected that this election season will see a fairly good percentage of voter turnout.
Q : What steps have
been taken up by the Election Commission (EC) to increase the voter
A : The Election Commission can only work towards encouraging and informing people about the importance of voting. It is upto the public as to what they think is important for them. The EC can spread awareness only to those people who are new to these voting systems. What to do with the people who have already registered and still do not understand the importance of voting.
So, to spread awareness in the newbies, the EC carries out various rallies providing people with the requisite knowledge they require. Also, the EC provides voter registration forms with college admission forms just to make it easy for the people to enroll. The EC also communicates with the Principals of various schools to spread voter registration awareness amongst the students. You can see posters and banners installed in the city, making the people of Gurgaon aware of their voting rights.

A : The State Election for 2014 will be commencing from 28 of September till 10 October.

general people register themselves to be the voters?
A : The registration process began on 9th of June and will end on this 30th of June and the eligibility is 18 years on 1st January, 2014.
