6000 labourers to demonstrate in Gurgaon for wage-hike
Thousands of workers and various union leaders are set to take part in a rally in Gurgaon on Wednesday to press for hike in wages of workers at HeroCorp's Gurgaon plant. The company management and labourers have been involved in a protracted battle over wage-hike.

Satbir Singh, the district president of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions, was quoted as saying by The Times of India, “Our main demands are that the workers from Hero MotoCorp are given a proper pay hike. We will also be raising the issue of Maruti's Manesar workers, who have been out of job for very long now.”

It is a planned demonstration and all the people will assemble near Civil Lines area with the final demonstration of around 6000-strong crowd planned at deputy commissioner's offices in Mini Secretariat.

Singh also said that workers as far as Bhiwani and Hissar are coming to take part in the demonstration so that all the demands of the labourers are met. Agreeing to the fact that a number of demonstrations did take place in the past, he also said that those rallies did not have the desired effect but it is high time that the management listened to the demands of labourers.
