84th birthday of HH the Dalai Lama celebrated across world by followers
Tributes and birthday wishes poured in from all across the world from the Tibetan Buddhists, followers and admirers on the 84th birthday of HH the Dalai Lama on July 6.

"We Tibetans are eternally grateful to the lineage of the Dalai Lamas and ever more so to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama for being our ray of hope and our source of strength in our times of darkness," read a statement of  the advisory board of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

I did a blog on his birthday which goes as follows: In many Eastern cultures, compassion and empathy are seen the core human values life and living. If so, right from early child care and education, we need to base education on these two values.

The educational process needs to be carried out an environment of compassion among all the role actors as a precondition to impart the joy of learning, holds the HH the Dalai Lama ? the spiritual head of the Tibetan Buddhism.

According to him, both parents and teachers would to be the role models of the value of compassion since in early grades, the child learns a lot through imitation.

A child needs to be treated as a feeling-thinking-doing individual. This implies that feelings and emotions are needed to be trained in the positive directions by weaving them the psycho-social environment through compassion.

I could gather that for the classroom processes, cooperative learning techniques are required to be used which emphasise co-construction of knowledge in supportive and sharing classroom environment. Co-construction and sharing of knowledge would be taken up in a mutually caring environment.
