A 65 year-old man dies on the spot after road accident in Gurgaon
A 65 year old person died on the spot after being hit by a speeding Toyota Etios at 7:30 am at Gwal Pahadi in Gurgaon. The elderly man, who died has been identified as Deviram, was taken to the city Hospital in Gurgaon for post-mortem. The accused fled from the spot leaving behind the vehicle.
Local residents of nearby villages at the crime scene informed the Police that the 65 year-old Deviram, resident of Mandi village, as usual on a cycle, used to go to the temple located in Gwal Pahadi. But, today morning, they saw him lying dead in the bushes along the road Dhaka Mor in Gwal Pahadi. His cycle was completely broken. The car bonnet had been completely smashed.

Police told that at Prime Facie, it seems to be a case of rash driving, the way the car rammed into the boundary wall about 10 feet away from the roadside. Perhaps the collision was so heavy that the car must have tossed the victim in the air. The cycle was recovered 20 feet off the road.

Gulam Mohammad, Chowki in-charge of Gwal Pahadi reached the spot at around 8.30am after the incident took place. Mohammad said, "The deceased has been sent to the city hospital in Gurgaon for post-mortem. The victim has been identified as 65 year old, Deviram from New Delhi. His family has also been informed. We have recovered the accident vehicle. However, the accused escaped from the spot but we have started the investigation regarding the accused."  He further added that the accused will be behind the bars soon.

Due to the accident, commuters going towards Gurgaon got into a traffic chaos for around an hour. The traffic police reached the spot and set aside the crowd and made the traffic movement smooth.
