Good point. The problem is that any NGO etc. is ultimately like a business - it may not be for profit, but it has an objective to fulfill. And if it depends on donations from common men especially, it has to appeal to the widest possible audience. And that can be done only by remaining apolitical.Also, if NGO's have avowed political ideologies, they are likely to be hounded by governments with opposing ideologies. Hence, their survival and interests are best served by remaining apolitical.
