A gunman hold hostages inside Lindt Chocolat Cafe in Sydney
A gunman inside Lindt Chocolat Cafe in Martin Place, Sydney is reportedly said to have taken some employees and customers as hostage. One may not be exactly sure about the number of people held hostage, but is said to be around 40 (10 employees and 30 customers).

The seriousness of the situation was understood when three hostages inside the cafe held a black flag against the window with something written in Arabic. What makes the situation dangerous is the fact that there has been no contact with the gunman and his motive still unknown.

There are reports, which claim that the gunman was using a young staff as a human shield as well, though, no injuries have been reported so far. The gunman could be seen walking inside the restaurant.

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott referred the situation as deeply concerning. He said, "I can think of almost nothing more distressing, more terrifying than to be caught up in such a situation, and our hearts go out to these people," reported BBC.

The police authorities have cordoned off the area and want to deal the manner peacefully. As per some witnesses, a man had walked inside the cafe with a bag and a gun.

Australian special forces have also been called to tackle the situation.
