TONY BLAIR's memoir ‘A Journey’ has broken sales records after a stupendous launch and the book has met with unprecedented success in sales collections, say various booksellers.
The account of his time in Downing Street by the former Prime Minister Blair sold more copies on its first day of publication than the autobiographies of other celebrities.
A Waterstone's spokesman said: ''We have never seen a book like this sell so quickly in one day. It was by some way the biggest selling book for Waterstone's yesterday...We are bowled over. We are immensely pleased with the performance of the book on day one.''
‘A Journey’ includes sensational and controversial anecdotes about Blair's time in power. The book includes a warning that the Labour Party must not to drift to the left if it wants to win the next election.
The former British Prime Minister has made some interesting revelations about his days as the Prime Minister of Britain. He has spoked about his relationship with the United States President George W Bush and how they went about the task of attacking Iraq. He has also written about his relationship with other party leaders and how the power struggle in the party led him to hit the bottle. Blair has also made some candid revelations about his family life and his personal relationships, particularly with his wife.
His revelations about the British Queen, however, have not gone down well with the establishment and there are reports that there is some unhappiness about the manner in which he has gone about writing about private affairs of the royal household.
