More shocking than the tragic death and the reported recovery of huge amount of cash and gold from Anuradha Bali's house is that a judge's objectionable sms was found in her cellphone.
ANURADHA BALI aka Fiza Mohammed, ex wife of Chander Mohan, ex deputy chief minister of Haryana was found dead in her flat in Mohali near Chandigarh. The police are investigating the case to the best of its capabilities. Eyebrows were naturally raised when it came to be known that an amount of Rs 92,86,160 in cash alongwith 1.5 kg 0f gold and 800 gms of silver was recovered from Fiza's house. She was a lawyer by profession. Investigations will go on and the law will take its own course. Many questions will be answered and some might remain unanswered.
But it is more shocking and disgusting to learn that a highly objectionable SMS from a judge was found by the police in Fiza's cell phone. The police is learnt to have contacted the judge and asked about it. He was told that the SMS was delivered from his number. The name of the judge has not been revealed.
Nobody knows if the judge was embarrassed or not, but certainly it is an embarrassment for all those Indian citizens who have faith in the caretakers of judicial system of India. A high time to think.
