The Republicans and Democrats have lost all moral authority when it comes to promoting peace and human rights in the world. Both the parties have become disenchanted with a two party system that owes its existence to special interests groups.
I HAVE decided to write a response to the 30 minute commercial by Obama and the response by McCain. Before doing so, I will come clean in saying that I write this article as a member of the Libertarian Party of my own free will. I am writing it without the help or support of the Libertarian Party and the Bob Barr Campaign.
The 2008 American elections will be remembered as the most controversial and historic election. It will also be remembered as one of the many elections where the Libertarian Party’s message of hope, peace, reconciliation, the pursuit of happiness, and limited government were marginalised by two major political parties that claim to be the representatives of people. The Republicans and Democrats have lost all moral authority when it comes to promoting peace and human rights in the world for their discriminatory behaviour against the Libertarian Party when it comes to equal time, equal coverage, and the right for the American people to be heard. The Republicans and Democrats cannot say that these elections are free and fair when alternative viewpoints are blocked by them and their media conglomerates. It would not be a surprise if the Democrats or the Republicans consolidate the dictatorship that they already have in place to stifle any forms of free expression.
The blame should be extended to the mainstream media in America for their horrible treatment and marginalisation of alternative candidates. When and if America ceases to be a democracy and a free society, the governing elite (and their media) will be to blame. If America were to dissolve into smaller states, they will be blamed as well. The Libertarian Party under the leadership of Bob Barr and Wayne Allyn Root chose their leaders in their convention in Denver, Colorado while the main parties had their conventions to ordain what was already selected. The Libertarian Party is the party that is growing gradually as Democrats and Republicans have become disenchanted with a two party system that owes its existence to special interests groups and not the people. The Libertarian Party has always stood for the people accepting private donations while Obama and McCain received donations from Goldman Sachs and Citigroup. The Libertarian Party is the party of peace and prosperity in the belief that peace and prosperity begins at home instead of fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Libertarian Party believes that the best government is less government with term limits for all political offices compared to the major parties that exist to remain in power. The Libertarian Party believes that freedom means the right to be responsible for the good and bad actions that occur from making a decision and taking risks without the need of a nanny state. While New Orleans, Louisiana was damaged by the excesses of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the American government (Republicans and Democrats) were nowhere to be found. The Libertarian Party along with other associations started doing charitable work and were able to produce results until the American government intervened and made things worse. The Libertarian Party also believes in love of country. Remember that a patriot is someone who has a healthy distrust of government and is willing to defend his or her country against the excesses of government. The Libertarian Party has been the symbol of hopes and dreams of America in good times and bad. Bob Barr and other Libertarians not only have the experience in government and the private sector but have used that experience to generate growth in jobs and to stimulate the economy by non involvement of the state. The Libertarian Party believes in the separation of the state from religion, business, education, and even personal lives. It is the right of the family not the state to dictate which religion the family will follow. It is also the right of the family and not the state if they do not want to practice any religion. It is the right of the family to decide which school their children will go to, taking into account how the school functions. In the present system, according to the American governing elite, a family who lives in district ’A’ must send their children to district ’A’ public school. If the school is great with students and the students learn, great. If the school is terrible in education, tough. It is also the right of a couple to marry or live jointly without the state interfering in their personal lives. The industries and businesses have a right to sell their goods and trade without the nanny state telling them where to sell or trade. People also should have the right to travel or move freely where they want to go without state interference. The concepts of the Libertarian Party are based on common sense, the constitution, and the Declaration of Independence. The Republicans and Democrats have a problem when it comes to applying common sense, the constitution, and The Declaration of Independence in the daily lives of the people. The Libertarian Party is a believer in the right of the people to defend themselves against thieves and threats since the state and the governing elite has become unwilling or unable to provide common defence as prescribed by the constitution. It is hoped that people will visit the website of the Libertarian Party and make a decision to vote for Bob Barr and the Libertarian Party if they hope to save America from a dictatorship and possibly dissolution. For those who have already decided on whom they will vote, please choose carefully. The future generations will either bless us or curse us for the decision we make in this crucial election year. It may be a decision, but once made could never be undone. I close by asking the readers of merinews and of the world to monitor the electoral process. I would also like to ask the world to intervene in America if necessary to promote equality within the elections. After all, America has been invading nations under the pretext of human rights and democracy. The governing elite of America makes decisions that alter the world landscape. It would only be fair if the world were to monitor and even lecture America on the need to respect the rights of those who are not Republicans nor Democrats. I would welcome such an intervention from the world even though I was born and raised in America.
