A must watch for Karni Sena: American cheerleaders dance to 'Ghoomar' song from Padmaavat during NBA game
After a wait of almost two months, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus - 'Padmaavat' finally released on January 25.

Ever since its conceptualisation the film had been receiving backlash from the Karni Sena, a fringe group belonging to the Rajput community that had alleged that the period drama had not presented the correct historical perspective and had in fact twisted facts.

The fringe group had also raised objections over Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone's 'Ghoomar' dance citing, "the Ghoomar dance does not feature any male presence or reveal any body part." Members of the Karni Sena had also alleged that the filmmamkers had portrayed not only queen 'Padmaavati' but the entire Rajput community in poor light.

However, that hasn't stopped dancers in foreign nations from tapping their feet to the 'Ghoomar' song. Recently, a video of the Ghoomar song is getting viral on the internet in which American cheerleaders can be seen performing to the song during an NBA basketball game between 'Miami Heat' and 'Charlotte Hornets' in the United States of America on January 28.

Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone shared the video clip posted by the National Basketball Association (NBA). "Revisit the mesmerising moment when the sights and sounds of Ghoomar from Padmaavat took over Charlotte!" she captioned it.

According to the report, viewers who had come to watch the match, enjoyed the cheerleaders' performance to the Ghoomar song by appreciating it with whistles and clapping.

Not only that, a family in San Francisco Bay Area reportedly booked an entire theatre and watched the film dressed in Padmavati-like attire.

Padmaavat, featuring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in lead roles, has already crossed the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office in its opening week.
