A R Rahman wins two Grammy awards
With this Rahman joins the select club of Indian musicians, who have also won the coveted award in the past, the list includes likes of Ravi Shankar-sitar maestro, Zakir Hussain-tabla player and Vishwa Mohan Bhatt-Guitarist.
THE CZAR of music A R Rahman, popularly known as Mozart of Madras has once again struck gold, his scintillating music in the Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire has won two prestigious Grammy awards.

At a glittering gala organized in Los Angeles attended by bigwigs from the world of cinema, sports, business, media and politics, he was awarded Grammy in two categories, best film song and best sound track. In a nail-biting neck and neck contest, he defeated acclaimed musicians and rock star Bruce Springsteen.

Elated with the victory, AR Rahman said “This is insane; god has once again favoured me”.  With this Rahman joins the select few club of Indian musicians who have also won the coveted award in the past, the list includes likes of Ravi Shankar-sitar maestro, Zakir Hussain-tabla player and Vishwa Mohan Bhatt-Guitarist.
