A tribal 'witch' killed in Odisha
Despite Odisha High Court orders to tackle the menace, another man was killed allegedly for practicing 'witchcraft' last Monday. Two locals have been arrested by the police and remanded to judicial custody.
SUSPECTED OF practicing witchcraft, a tribal man Andha Madi Desari of Tibiri village under Malkangiri district of Odisha was killed Monday last. Two persons, Bhima Khupri and Jaga Padiami, allegedly responsible for his killing were arrested on Wednesday last, according to local police sources.
It was on Monday, Bhima and his accomplice Jaga Padiami called Andha and strangulated him to death and dumped his body in the nearest paddy field. A complaint was lodged by the victim’s family. The police recovered the body on Wednesday and arrested Bhima and Joga and sent them to judicial custody.
