A visit to Tam Coc in Vietnam with slow moving river criss-crossing limestone mountains
Tam Coc in Vietnam, also called 'Ha Long on the land', is as fascinating as Ha Long Bay because you can have about two-hour boating in the slow moving river surrounded by fresh cool air and majestic mountain scenery of limestone which is 100 km from Hanoi to the south.

The boats are available at Tam Coc village for a leisurely journey on Ngo Dong River running through magnificent limestone mountains and paddy fields. Also the boat passes through three caves in the mountains famous for Karsts scenery and the green water with paddy at the two banks of the river.

For more than two-hour journey, for the numbered boats, two-tourists in a boat are the norm. Both boatmen and boat women in Ninh Hai row both with hands and legs. In between you will find floating vendors selling fruits, beer, fish and eatables.

While passing through the caves you can see stalactites hanging above and deep silence brings a calming and peaceful feeling.

Since the travel time along the river and back is a long one, boat-persons have acquired the amazing skill of using both arms and legs to row to prevent exhaustion and take the tourists around through a fairy land journey through the river passing through enchanting scenery.
