A war within
Not against any known criminal, but the TMC chief in Tripura has filed an FIR against own men for threat to life. It revealed the war goining on within own fold.
Time does not run equal for all always. It’s time to rejoice as well as repent for an advancing political party.

Although Trinamool Congress under the leadership of Mamata Bannergy is setting all corners for a smooth and final victory in 2011 assembly elections in West Bengal, it’s Tripura unit has a battle to fight within it’s own fold. The party which is known as dead against the communist regime in Bangla, seems to be keen on handing a good political weapon to it’s arch rival CPM here. Irony of fate comes in such a way that the party chief of the state committee has sought police protection to save his life from his own colleagues. He has lodged an FIR in the nearest police station saying that he is under serious threat to life.

TMC chairman of Tripura unit Mr Arun Chandra Bhowmik has complained to Agartala West police station that his party colleague Joy Datta has given a threat over telephone to kill him for his reported reservation regarding Datta’s getting high importance for coming Agartala Municipal Council elections. Party state president Dulal Das has provocated him to threat Mr Bhowmik over telephone, he also alleged.

Police started investigating into the matter after it received the written complaint. According to sources, police officials may interrogate several TMC leaders of different status including Joy Datta and Dulal Das to know what the actual happening was there with the position of Joy Datta in the party in regard to the ensuing AMC general elections. Through this, police will get to know about the internal political affairs of the party that should normally be limited to the party men only. Well wishers of the party think that, that means, communist govt. in disguise of police shall be able to have a good opportunity to interfere into the inner party affair of the party which is the main opponent in West Bengal. CPM is expecting to be beneficial of it by propagating well in Bangla where it’s condition is decaying gradually.

TMC is a party with very poor support base in Tripura. Run by a group of ex back bencher congressmen, it’s local leadership is dreaming of Mamata magic to play important role in Tripura assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2013 and take party to the centre stage of power here. Instead of spreading organization in urban as well as rural areas with the issues relating to common man’s interest, the state leaders are engaged in war within for personal interest. High command is reported to be highly dissatisfied with them over this internal tug of war issue that may air a negative message to the people of both Tripura and West Bengal. In case this tussle is continued then stringent action may be initiated, a high level party official informed.
