As per the latest announcement, production of Aadhaar card is must to avail subsidised LPG cylinder supplies or scholarships. The Government of India and UIDAI has to clarify on the following issues.

If a person shifts from one locality to another but his Aadhaar card will have the earlier door number. In that case, will the LPG gas distributor accept the card and provide subsidized supply on his new address?

It is requested that the Government of India should immediately extend the deadline by, at least, six more months or it should allow the LPG consumers to produce the below mentioned documents till they get the card.

- Production of acknowledgement slip of Aadhaar Card enrolment

- Production of ration card, wherein his/her LPG connection details are mentioned

- Production of enrolment form duly acknowledged by the concerned centre head, mentioning the date of enrolment to be taken place.

Further, the Government of India should announce the area resident welfare associations to provide the necessary statistics like: how many have enrolled and yet to get enrolled; how many have received the card and how many are yet to receive. The services of GHMC Ward Committee and Area Sabha members should be availed for proper and complete enrolment of all the citizens in the areas. Centres should be opened in all wards of the GHMC area immediately to complete the process at the earliest.

Let us hope that the Government of India and UIDAI will look into the suggestions and announce opening of more centres.
