BOLLYWOOD ACTOR Aamir Khan has agreed to be the Indian face of the Earth Hour campaign on March 28. According to Aamir Khan, “Climate change is undoubtedly and regrettably, the biggest immediate long-term environmental challenge we face. A failure to come to sound policy outcomes on climate change will not only have a negative environmental impact but also social and economic consequences for all of us.”
Two Indian metros, New Delhi and Mumbai, have resolved to participate in the Earth Hour on March 28, that is being organised world-wide by World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The Earth Hour campaign was initiated in Australia in 2007. Last year it showed an upsurge when over 50 million people around the world switched off their lights for Earth Hour in 2008.
