Aamir Khan on Time cover, is he India's Male Oprah?
The show that did not go down well with some sections of the society at home Satyamev Jayate has propelled Bollywood actor Aamir Khan to be on the cover of Time magazine. He is the third male Bollywood star to have made it to the cover.

AAMIR KHAN did not bargain for this! He might have predicted the huge TRPs and critic's reviews but to be featured on the cover page of Time magazine is even more historic, and perhaps a response to critics of his show. Aamir Khan is the third Bollywood male actor after Parveen Babi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to be on the cover - and more for the fact that he was chosen for his making a difference to the society and less for his main profession of acting.

While both Parveen Babi in 1976 and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan 2004 were chosen by Time to show the changing faces of Bollywood, and how both the actresses in their own way bought about a change in the Hindi film industry with their work. However, this time Aamir Khan has been chosen for his immensely popular show Satyamev Jayate - a show that tracked the various loopholes in the Indian society.

With a brown-eyed Aamir Khan on Time's cover, the cover page also has block lettered words, 'KHAN'S QUEST'. The lines that follow will make anyone proud, “He's breaking the Bollywood mold by tackling India`s social evils. Can one actor change a nation?” The show that was received wonderfully well with the Indian audience seems to have bought about a greater impact, and now we can officially call him the India's Male Oprah.

Apart from Bollywood personalities, our political leaders and sportspersons have, on and off, made it to the prestigious cover of the New York Magazine. Mahatma Gandhi, Narendra Modi, Dr Manmohan Singh, Sania Mirza and Sachin Tendulkar have also appeared on Time's cover.
