AAP announces its candidate for Lok Sabha seat from Jaipur
Dr. Virendra Singh, the former superintendent of Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital has been chosen as the candidate of Aam Aadmi Party for the Lok Sabha seat of Jaipur, as stated by the spokesperson of AAP. Dr. Singh had recently taken voluntary retirement from the SMS hospital. He is a noted asthma specialist of the country.
"We are pleased to announce the sixth list of 56 candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Lok Sabha Elections 2014. With this list the total number of candidates declared by the AAP so far is now 242," as per AAP's website. Dr Singh appears in the list along with two other candidates finalized as the party candidates of AAP.

For Churu, K Saharan and for Udaipur, Velaram Meena has been chosen as party candidates of AAP in the sixth list. Both these candidates are social workers and activists. Furthermore, for Bhilwara, Sunil Agiwal and for Alwar, Virendra Vidrohi's name appears in the list.

AAP as a political party was formally launched on 26 November 2012. Activist Arvind Kejriwal formed AAP with others to politicise the popular ‘India Against Corruption’ movement that had been demanding a Jan Lokpal Bill since 2011.

According to AAP's chief Kejriwal, his party is not guided by ideologies and has entered politics to change the system. "We are aam aadmis. If we find our solution in the left we are happy to borrow it from there. If we find our solution in the right, we are happy to borrow it from there," he had said on an earlier occasion.
