AAP's crusade for Lokpal & anti-corruption sounds hollow as it uses different yardstick for its members
Arvind Kejriwal has taken a moral high ground on Jan Lokpal issue by resigning as Delhi Chief Minister. He claimed that his identity was the Jan Lokpal and since Jan Lokpal BIll couldn't be presented in the Delhi Assembly, so he would not continue in the government. Thus he made it very clear that his crusade against corruption and up keeping transparency is un-compromising.

Well, this really sounds very good as in nowadays' polity, none perhaps can take such a stand. However sometimes it sounds hollow if one goes back to couple of years. On 19th October 2012, Kejriwal ordered an internal Lokpal investigation against his three India Against Colleague Anjali Damania, Prashant Bhusan and Mayank Gandhi after getting allegation of land deals.

Is Arvind Kejriwal's decision to resign correct?

After a lot of delay, the internal Lokpal gave verdict on Mayank Gandhi clearing all the charges due to lack of tenable evidences to substantiate the allegations. However, there is no internal verdict on Prashant Bhushan and Anjalai Damania. Interestingly on July 23, 2013 Kejriwal clarified that because Anjali Damania is not from national executive, hence she can’t be scrutinized by the internal Lokpal. She can only be scrutinized by a state-internal Lokpal which is yet to be constituted.

Similarly on the same day he clarified that because there was no outside complainant for Prashant Bhushan, thus he wouldn’t also subject to internal Lokpal investigation. As there are two complainants against Mayank Gandhi, hence he alone would be investigating by the internal Lokpal only.

The above shows the duality, lack of transparency and tokenism even on the internal lokpal system by Kejriwal. Now Anjali Damania is set to contest against Nitin Gadkari and Prashant Bhushan continues to be key national executive. This doesn't speak of true crusader of corruption free India. If you aren't able to tackle corruption allegations against your colleagues, how can you question others?

Also, one can see AAP's deviation from its 2013 procedure with respect to selection of candidate's. During 2013 Assembly elections, they use to declare names of various candidate's for different constituencies and ask public's opinion on who should be finally their candidate. The candidate who gets maximum votes become the official candidate of AAP. This method at least added credibility to AAP’s logic that, ‘we aren’t contesting the election, the people are contesting!’

But this time 20 Lok Sabha candidates have been declared after discussion held with in the party's Political Affairs Committee. Neither public opinion was taken nor any contest took place between candidates for a constituency. This way of declaring candidates is not different from other conventional parties and clearly indicate that transparency is gradually eroding from the AAP, thus changing the party into a traditional political party!

There can’t be two yardsticks. It's constantly proved that APP has one yardstick for AAP members and another yard stick for non-AAP people. People never like such opportunistic use of different yardsticks!
