AAP's laudable efforts of revamping govt schools; 60% Delhiites prefer govt schools than private, says survey
In a sample survey recently conducted by ASSOCHAM, as many as 60 per cent people out of the total 5,000 participants preferred Delhi's government schools than private schools, whereas around 70 per cent respondents said that they had seen a considerable improvement in Delhi's government schools.

The better performance of Delhi-based primary government institutions can only be attributed to the strong initiatives taken by the AAP government in Delhi. The autocratic style functioning of almost all the private schools was curbed and changed drastically by a well-planned method of approach by the Education Minister of Delhi government.

The plan of Delhi government of refurbishing all government primary schools along with prime focus on the holistic development resulted in a fruitful outcome. It is therefore objectively important to know and understand the terms 'holistic approach'. The holistic approach means an overall development of every child's intellect; and also nurturing the emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative and spiritual potential.

The highly acclaimed success of AAP in this regard has never been witnessed before in Delhi NCR. These true efforts have given 5695 new classrooms in government-run schools of the national capital. There also plans to set up another 2400 new primary schools as envisioned by Delhi's Minister of Education and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Govt Schools Class Rooms

Our children not only need care but also need to be given safety and security which should be the utmost priority of our primary institutions meant for school goers. All government schools now have the required facilities like CCTVs, security guards, fire fighting equipment along with primary health check-up facilities for children. In terms of safety and security, private schools of Delhi lag far behind than the government schools.

CCTV in Govt Schools

Since children spend more time in schools than at home, it is a matter of great concern to keep them safe and secure. Lax security arrangements at private schools have resulted in deaths of many children just like the more recent murder of Pradhyuman Thakur, a six-year-old student of Ryan International School in Gurugram, who was found with his throat slit inside the school's washroom. It is nothing but a lethal consequence of complete apathy and irresponsibility of the school's management, including the teaching staff and principal. In the name of value-based education, private schools of Delhi plunder people's money.

It is quite evident that the AAP government of Delhi is seriously taking up this matter and acting with utmost responsibility. This boosting of primary education in Delhi NCR will help to create a better tomorrow and take the young minds on the path of nation-building.
