ABC of Shaktism: Doctrine of Navratri worship of Devi Maa
Shaktism as doctrine of the Goddess or Navratri is a denomination of devotional Hinduism that focuses on the worship of Shakti, Devi, Divine Mother or Feminine Divine - as the absolute and ultimate Godhead.

In Northern India and some eastern parts like Bengal and Assam there are number of Hindus that follow Shaktism and nine-day festival called Navratri is observed twice a year by the followers.

Shaktism regards Devi Maa as the Supreme Being itself and all other forms of divinity as her diverse manifestations. However, Shakti as the dynamic feminine aspect of the Supreme Divine regards Shiva, the masculine aspect of divinity solely transcendent whose worship is usually relegated to an auxiliary role.

Shaktism is unique aspect of Hinduism since nowhere in the religious history of the world, one can find a completely female-oriented religious or devotional system that recognizes the Feminine Divine as basic cosmic force of all existence.

According to scholar VK Subramanian, Shakti is considered to be the cosmos itself - an embodiment of energy and dynamism - and the motivating force behind all action and existence in the material universe. He holds that there is no Shiva without Shakti, or Shakti without Shiva; thus, the two in themselves are One.

Here is the ABC verse on Shaktism.

A: All creation and the energy in the cosmos animates due to Feminine Divine as the ultimate being

B: Brahman is static Shakti and Shakti is dynamic Brahman

C: Combination of all three divinities - Manifest Divinity, Unmanifest Divinity, and Transcendent Divinity

D: Divinity in supreme form transcends genders but not apart from her immanence
