ABC of Vedic Science
People are talking about Vedic Science these days. But different people with their own levels of knowing and consciousness are interpreting it in different ways. The term has also acquired political connotations and a sense of false pride of belonging to highly evolved ancient Indian culture, which goes against the very nature of Vedic Science, which treats humans as humble seekers of self-knowledge.
It would be appropriate to know and understand what Vedic Science is all about. As we know that science is characterised by study of nature and and its phenomena with are objective, process-based, verifiable and dynamic in nature.

There are two kinds of main sciences, hard or real science and soft science. Hard science consists of an objective pursuit of truth through observation, measurement, experimentation, verification as well as discovering and rediscovering knowledge by treating the discovered knowledge as tentative. Physics, chemistry and some parts of life sciences constitute hard science.

In soft sciences a large number of observations are taken on a representative sample, which is statistically analysed to find results. Medicine, agriculture, weather, psychology, pedagogy, sociology, education, etc., are regarded as soft sciences.

However, for human beings, both the knowledge of the external world and the internal world has become the areas of study. Humans are stuck with a perennial quest for self-knowledge or knowledge of one's own existence or knowing "Who am I?" may have different approaches than both hard and soft sciences.

Based on the ancient Indian studies and practices, the inner science of self-knowledge is being termed as 'yogic science' these days. Yogic science aims at self-discovery of the supreme eternal truth of existence. In other words, it aims not just at the knowledge of the outer world but an understanding of the knower equally. It believes in discovering and rediscovering oneself from moment to moment.

Here is my ABC verse on Vedic Science:

A: Ancient Indian science and technology of consciousness

B: Being and becoming discovered through self-reflection, self-improvement and self-perfection

C: Consciousness is objectively studied by consciousness itself

D: Discovering the nature's self-referral knowledge

E: Evolving oneself transcendentally to become pure consciousness
