ABCs of pedagogy that is being seen central to school reform
Pedagogy word has gained currency in India and educators are talking about pedagogically sound education. However, in the absence of clarity about the concept of pedagogy and no examples being available, the whole idea is turning into 'old wine with new label' and making things worse.

There is  utter of lack of experts in pedagogics who had also been the classroom practitioners.  Our education system is already littered and polluted with failed reforms since top-down reforms hardly have any trickle down effect.

In such a situation, school based reforms  based on micro-planning and capacity building of schools to create their educational reform plans with rest of system becoming the support structure, no reform can succeed and pedagogy demands it.

Lets understand, the concept of pedagogy, It is viewed as a scientific method based or process based practice of teaching with base in learning theory and learning principles for its intrinsic validity. It can be seen as science, art, profession and academic discipline of putting theories into action and informing theories through researched and analysed actions in learning settings.
