Twenty20 world champion Pakistan is once again under the shadow of match fixing allegations. Former Pakistan chief selector and one of the greatest leg spinners, Abdul Qadir feels that that manner in which team lost in Sri Lanka was fishy
AFTER LOSING badly in the one-day and test series, the Pakistan cricket team is once again under the shadow of match fixing allegations. Former Pakistan chief selector and one of the greatest leg spinners, Abdul Qadir feels that that manner in which team lost in Sri Lanka was fishy and could be a pointer to involvement of some players in match fixing.
Qadir said that it is difficult to accept that a team, which won the world championship a month ago could lose the test and one-day series so badly. Qadir in a statement on Tuesday (August 4), said that he suspected something amiss in the losses suffered by the team, which lost the tests 0-2 and has lost three one-days in trot.
Putting a question mark on the performance of the team, Qadir said its strange that on a day, when bowlers perform the batsmen lose the plot and vice versa, adding something was wrong somewhere.
Cricket has not become so unpredictable, said the former selector, saying its not easy to see a champion team losing like this.
