It refers to contradictory statements from Department of Justice and Supreme Court of India on daily travel-allowance being allowed for spouses of Supreme Court judges on their travel abroad. Whole controversy should be ended by inducing austerity in all wings of democratic system whereby travel of spouse of any person on post at government-expense including even so far provided fare may be abolished for future. Any person including those in legislature, judiciary or executive taking spouse should be made to bear all travel-expenses of the spouse including even fare. Already salaries of all those getting salary from exchequers have increased heavily and adequately after implementation of Sixth-Pay Commission. It is extremely unjustified to burden people by luxury-travel by spouses with those on official trips going abroad. Also fare-difference should be charged from all those who do not follow norms of shortest air-route while on official trips abroad.
