Absence of Mukherji at Parliament photo session should be investigated
There should be a high-level inquiry about prominent parliamentarian and former Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee being absent from the photo-session held on commemorative function to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of Indian Parliament.
IT BECOMES especially important when name of the veteran leader is going round with full prominence and support from even Opposition Parties as the country’s next President.
If no separate invitations were mailed to the parliamentarians other than usual information put on websites of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, then it is a fault on part of Pranab Mukherjee as a political tactic to remain in news. But if any other parliamentarian, including minister or opposition leader, was sent some separate invitation, then it is mischievous to deliberately ignore Pranab Mukherjee who also happened to be the leader of the ruling party in the Lok Sabha.
If Mukherjee does go on to become India's next president, then we will never know why this error was made. It shall remain a historical mystery, unless the incident is investigated and the truth comes out.
