Abu Dujana to army officer before being killed: 'Mubarak ho, finally you caught me...but I won't surrender'
A taped conversation between an Indian army officer and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Abu Dujana who was killed in an encounter with the security forces in Pulwama on Tuesday has revealed that Dujana was asked to surrender himself before the Indian army, just minutes before the security forces killed him in an encounter, according to media reports.

In the telephonic conversation, Lashkar's 'most wanted' terrorist Dujana is heard congratulating the Indian army for capturing him eventually but clarifying that he will not surrender himself. Dujana also admitted that he had left behind his parents in Pak-occupied Kashmir's Gilgit-Baltistan for 'jihad' for which he does not feel guilty.

Dujana asks the army officer, "Kya haal hai? Maine kaha, kya haal hai (how are you. I asked, how are you)?" The officer replies to Dujana, "Humara haal chhor Dujana. Why don't you surrender? You have married this girl. What you are doing isn't right," in the telephonic conversation.

The officer further tells Dujana that he is being used by Pakistani agencies as their stooge to spread and incite terror activities in Kashmir, but Dujana remains defiant. The militant replies, "Hum nikley thhey shaheed hone. Main kya karu. Jisko game khelna hai, khelo. Kabhi hum aage, kabhi aap, aaj aapne pakad liya, mubarak ho aapko. Jisko jo karna hai karlo (I'd left home for martyrdom. What can I do? Sometimes we are ahead, sometimes you — today you caught me. Congratulations. Now do what you have to)."

Dujana further adds, "Surrender nahi kar sakta. Jo meri kismat may likha hoga, Allah wahi karega, theek hai? (I won't surrender. Allah does what's fated, okay?)"

The officer advices Dujana to show concern for his family but Dujana replies, "Maap baap toh uss din mar gaye jis din main unko chhor kar aaya (my parents died the day I coleft them behind)."

Reiterating his advice to Dujana, the officer tells him that Indian security forces don't want to indulge themselves into bloodbath with infiltrators who belong to Pakistan-based militancy group.

After appealing him continuously, the officer once again advices him to not recruit Kashmiri youth for terror and appeals him to save Kashmiris, but Dujana does not show his interest over the officer's advice and abruptly ends the chat.

Later, the officer makes one last attempt by advicing Dujana to surrender but the officer does not get any response from Dujana.

Finally, the security forces took the decision to go ahead with the encounter. As per media reports, he was killed by security forces in Hakripora, Pulwama district on Tuesday where he had gone to meet his wife.

Dujana was the chief commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan based terrorist organisation. He was an A+++ category terrorist who carried a bounty of more than Rs 15 lakh on his head, according to sources.
