CONSULTANCY AND Global technology giants, Accenture announced on Monday that it will be adding around 8,000 people in India by the end of next year. By adding 8,000 more emoployees, Accenture would take its total employee base to 50,000 in India.

William D Green, Accenture Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said that currently they have 42,000 employees and they imagine that it would reach 50,000 by the end of next year, 2010. Green said that the company will continue to focus in India in areas of analytics. He said that he would hire more employees next year, indication that there was indeed a recovery from the global downturn. He added that they believe that analytics would be an important trend that their customers will be demanding from them. Also they think that India would be a great place for them and have some core centres for excellence in the analytics space in the country.
Accenture has an annual revenue of $12.58 billion for fiscal 2009 and they would be working more on strengthening its focus on clients in pharamaceuticals, energy and telecommunications in India.
