Accident cases declined in Gurgaon due to stringent action by the city police
Due to additional stringent measures taken by the Gurgaon Police, the number of the road accidents taking place have reduced from last year.

As per a report by the police, it was seen that the number of road accidents and fatalities in Gurgaon went down when January of 2013 was compared to January of 2014.

It was stated that in January 2014, 35 road accident complaints were registered in which 35 people died and 9 were injured. January 2013 was grimmer with 43 cases being registered in which 47 people died and 15 got injured.

This improvement has happened owing to a number of surprise checks, drink and driving checks in the city by the Gurgaon Police.

Surprise checking was conducted near MDI chowk (Old Delhi Road) against wrongly parked vehicle and about 24 vehicles (canters, trailers, buses) were challaned for wrong parking.

Vehicles challaned for lane driving violation in Gurgaon

Yesterday, 1467 vehicles were challaned of which 96 for violation of Lane Driving, 30 vehicles were towed by Crane for wrong parking, 83 for Red Light Jump, 22 for without reflector, 98 for wrong side driving, 62 for the violation of No Entry, 114 for wrong parking, 58 for without helmet, 89 for without seat belt, 638 against auto rickshaw drivers and rest were for others.
