'Adda' song: Swanand Kirkire's soothing Bengali connection
On the occasion of Bengali New Year, SCUD (an NGO working for the development of rural women's living) gifted the nation an audio-visual treat in the form of a latest song "Adda".

In fact, the song showcases a north Kolkata-flavoured love story of Poila Boisakh (first day of Bengali New Year). The song has been created with some serious star collaborations. While the lyrics have been penned down by two-time national award winner Swanand Kirkire, the song is voiced by Anupam Roy, another national award recipient, who was bestowed with the honour just recently.

The song has been composed by Upal Sengupta, who had earlier composed for Shoojit Sircar's first Bengali production 'Open Tee Bioscope'. It's a well made love song featuring Ritabhari Chakraborty and Kunal Karan Kapoor.

Ritabhari, truly, a beauty with brains is going national day-by-day. Within just a few months of working with Ayushmann Khurrana in his music video "Orrey Mon', she then collaborated with Kalki Koechlin for a short film 'Naked' which was released online on the eve of Women's Day. This time she has also produced the song on behalf of SCUD, an NGO which she runs along with her mother.

The cinematography of the song has been done by Gairik Sarkar, who had went behind the lens for 'Naked'. The song has been directed by national award winner Satarupa Sanyal, who is virtually a mother to Ritabhari. Satarupa Sanyal is also is a noted poet, lyricist and composer. She has also mastered the art of making documentaries with her legendary works on Jamini Ganguly, Michael Madhusudan Dutta and Manna Dey. 'Adda' is her first venture into music videos. Anyways, to revisit fresh love stories and experiencing pure nostalgia, do watch 'Adda'.
