Adding more compartments to trains needed more than ever
Railway Ministry is requested to explore the possibility of adding more general compartments in Express and Superfast trains as this will prove to be a real blessing for many frequent travellers.

IT HAS been observed that the number of people travelling from one place to another has increased over the past few years. Out of many modes of transportion, the rail route is often preferred by the masses. Therefore the demand is far more than the supply when it comes to boarding a general compartment of an express or a fast moving train.

Though the seating capacity may be around 60 in such compartments, seldom does one find a vacant space in such compartments. It is frequently seen that the actual number of people boarding and settling down in each compartment is  very much higher than the seating capacity.

Frequently, it has been found that a person can not freely move his legs due to lack of space. People are crammed in such a manner that elderly have to face lot of difficulties to go to toilet.

There are also a number of passenger trains running between different stations in different parts of the country. But the demand for boarding a general train is very high compared to boarding a passenger train because the latter do not undertake long distances and they also take long hours to travel from station to another.

Railway Ministry is requested to explore the possibility of adding more general compartments in express and superfast trains as this will prove to be a 'real blessing for many frequent travellers'.
