India is losing talent every day when our best brains leave the country for foreign shores after getting educated in our prestigious institutes. If this continues unabated then who will man our top jobs? The government should remedy this.
AMARTYA SEN is a well known name in the field of economics. He is just one of our noted scientists who left India for lucrative jobs available in other countries. Why?
India has been a land of knowledge right from the ancient times. People here work hard and respect education. Learning has been our culture. But a few decades back, there began brain drain. People studied here with high hopes and a better life in view, but all they got was disappointment. A country like India with such a vast population also has a large number of employed youth. Our government doesn’t provide job opportunities for all. Also, Indians are honoured abroad and because of them we are recognised.
I completely agree with this. In fact, in the recent issue of the magazine ‘Outlook’ some startling facts were revealed. It said that the government makes efforts spending its money to send 2 out of every 3 IIT graduates abroad. Now, this is where we find the crack in the wall. If graduates from the most prestigious institutes in the country are going abroad then what is the sole purpose of having these institutions when the country is not being benefitted by them. Another point to be pondered over is whether they are justified in doing so! Are there are not worthwhile job opportunities available in India? But here I would like to point out that at some time or the other, someone has to raise his hand and fight with the devil. As it is said in the Bible. “Go to the ant, consider her ways and be wise”. If something is not going to happen quickly then, I am sorry to say that India will not rise beyond its status in the world today. The government on its part is also responsible for this brain drain. The government has enough financial resources to provide good jobs with high salaries. But, as I mentioned earlier, the government spends money to send graduates abroad and some more goes into their pockets. Brain drain from the India is just like absorbing all the nice things from the river Ganges and squeezing it down on the banks of river Thames or the Amazon. It is true that we don’t have better job opportunities but that is no reason to leave your mother land. A child doesn’t leave his mother if she has a few scars on his face. And if he does, then, I must say that it’s a matter of great shame. If India does not do anything to counter this problem then I fear that it’s future may not be quite different from that of a circus.
Your write up looks like report. We all know this. The point you have not touched is the reason why these lads leave India although there is wide scope here at home. The answer is very simple it is red tape, corrupt official and reservation in key field. A reserved candidate passes competitive exam scoring down to earth marks gets the job although not fit to get it. So what these brilliant lads will do? Lament or leave. So these bani's of should must stop and lets do it by removing the hurdles. But the question is are we ready to sacrifice. Will the affluent reserved class give away their right and be commoners?
