Adobe Systems said that it has acquired Day Software for $240 million, on Wednesday. Day Software is a Swiss developer of web content management software which has operations in Newport Beach.
ADOBE SYSTEMS said that it has acquired Day Software for $240 million, on Wednesday. Day Software is a Swiss developer of web content management software which has operations in Newport Beach. Day provides digital asset management and social collaboration offerings, in addition to its Web content management software.
Day Software, which was started in Switzerland in 1993, it opened its U.S. headquarters in 2000, and began trading on an over-the-counter exchange. According to the news release, Day's customers include BMW, Hyatt, PayPal, Sotheby's, Newsweek and MTV.
An Adobe Systems rep. said in a statement, "The acquisition will strengthen the company’s enterprise software solutions with market leading Web Content Management (WCM), Digital Asset Management and Social Collaboration offerings."
According to the deal, Day's CEO, Erik Hansen, will join Adobe. Day will operate as a product line within Adobe's Digital enterprise solutions business unit
Adobe Systems, which is headquartered in San Jose, is the global leader in graphics and editing software like, Photoshop, Flash, Premier Pro, etc. In October, Adobe Systems bought Omniture, an online analytics provider for $1.8 billion.
