At least one in three girls and women worldwide has been beaten or sexually abused in her lifetime especially in India. Abortion rates are increasing in Indian states mainly in Punjab and Haryana just because of amniocentesis. Amniocentesis is a procedure used to diagnose fetal defects in early second trimester of pregnancy but benefits of these tests were leaked out and people started using it as an instrument for killing their girl child in India.

In India, girl child is discriminated and neglected for basic nutrition, education and for living standard. This hateful reality has to change towards girl child and this completely depends upon the attitude of our society.

It would be wrong to say that the government is not doing anything towards this, but sometimes government becomes helpless. When people are not ready to change their own mentality towards their daughters despite of being educated, than what government can do.

Creating awareness among different communities and young generation about sex ratio and its negative impact on society as a whole would help to see girl child as a boon. We should make people learn about the importance of saving the girl child proving a healthy gender balance in the society.

Every single positive step taken by each individual towards adoption of a girl child may definitely work for the betterment of our country. Therefore, to prevent horrible future we all need to realise our responsibility which may help to stop this evil act and provides all of us a better future.
